As of October 1, 2015, the Japanese government will be conducting a Population Census. All people residing in Japan, regardless of nationality are required to complete this survey.
Your responses will not be used in any way for immigration control, police investigations or other such purposes.
From around the beginning of September, Population Census Workers will be visiting all households to distribute information on how to fill out the Census forms.
The forms will be available online as well.
